The Move to Coeur D Alene, Idaho.....

Our move to Coeur D'Alene started out up in the air a few days before we officially were to move. We had planned on going with a different moving company and had it all set to go, when they called a few days before to finalize our reservation, they then told us that they could not let us pull our car on any of their trailers without us disabling the drive train, they said that we would have to take off one end of it and then it would be ok. So Liz and I hurried and said a prayer and found that UHaul would let us pull our car and that it would be no problem. We were so excited.  So we picked up the Truck and trailer on the morning of the move and Liz went and dropped McKinley off at a baby sitter while we moved out.  It was an easy move and we enjoyed having the Missionaries help and 2 other guys from the ward. It took about 30 minutes to get everything out and packed.  I know i made Liz crazy by constantly telling her how i was going to pack the truck and everything else.  We then stayed the night at Liz's Grandma's house and had a good night of relaxing before my long drive to Coeur D'Alene. Liz and McKinley flew up to get here a few days early to see our new place and get some things set up. 

While i was driving through Denver, Liz called and she said that her and McKinley were also in Denver at the airport. I left about 8 hours earlier than they did and they were in Denver at the same time. We had a good laugh at that. The weather was getting horrible through Denver and once i got past the Colorado border into Wyoming, i hit a white out snow storm just about 30 minutes to Cheyenne. I thought about it and decided to just stop and get a hotel. It was a good idea, because i was tired and my legs were killing me since the UHAUL did not have cruise control.  I was at my hotel before Liz got to hers in Coeur D Alene, and we talked for about 5 minutes before we both went to bed. 

I got up on Thursday morning and was out on the road by 8:30 AM and just about 5 minutes out of Cheyenne, the snow storm started again and traffic was going slow. I hit rain and snow pretty much all the way through Wyoming just until i drove into Montana. Montana was beautiful.  I saw lots of deer, elk, antelope, one black bear running up a burnt out hill side, and a huge bald eagle sitting on a tree in the middle of a river.  As i drove through one of the indian reservations i saw a guy living under the overpass, it was all set up like a home, chairs, mattress and tons of stuff and he was just chillin and waving at all the cars.

About 80 miles to go to Coeur 'D Alene, which was about 11:30 or so at night, i drove across the Idaho border and was going up a big mountain pass when all of a sudden, whiteout snow storm, i could not see anything, i was behind a few big rigs and cars and they all started to pull off to the shoulder of the road. I was going to, but i just said to myself, i am almost to Coeur 'D Alene, and i want to see Liz and McKinley so i slowed down and put on my hazard lights and put the truck into 3rd gear and just went up the hill and hugged the center median and went about 15 MPH the whole way up the pass and down the backside, on the opposite side of the road, i saw 3 semis that were jacked knifed across both lanes and cars off the road and finally some snow plows that were not on my side and some cops parked at the bottom not letting anyone else up.  It was nerve wracking and my hands were stiff after driving through that, i was holding onto the steering wheel really tight.

I finally made it to Coeur D'Alene and went to the hotel Liz was staying at, it was a great hotel and they had a nice pool and hot tub open 24 hours, so we went and got in the hot tub to relax and to help my legs after driving that crappy no cruise control truck, it was so nice.

The next morning we got up, had a good breakfast and then came to our new House. It is great and we are now moved in. Pictures and more will be posted in the next few days.  We are so happy to be here and we want to invite any of you to come stay with us. This place is beautiful.
