Oh What a Night...........

A few weeks ago i surprised Liz with concert tickets to see Michael Buble'. He is one of Liz's favorite singers and we have tried to go see him before, but either tickets were to much or the timing was wrong. We had August 10th circled from that day.  Liz was a little worried that we would not be able to find a baby sitter. So i asked a friend from work if she would mind and she said yes and that she would do it for free, since i have helped her out so much. I said Yes immediately.

So my friend Sara came over and got the low down on how to take care of McKinley and we left. It was a nice drive and Liz and I had time to talk and just enjoy each other. We got to the arena early so we could find a good parking spot and there was a lot right across from the door where we had to enter and we parked. We also parked near an area of Spokane called the Spokane River Front Park. Its a touristy area with lots of rides, an IMAX Theater, a water fall gondola ride ( Which we did and it sucked ), and lots of other family things. We also got to enjoy the big Homeless Population of Spokane.  They were everywhere. Liz and I both think they hang out in that area, because its really shady and its where all the tourists go so they beg for money, reminds of being outside of Temple Square and having all the vagrants ask for money.

Liz on the Gondola.

The River was not running high, since they are doing construction on the dam.

So after our Gondola ride, we went to eat across the street at Olive Garden. I am usually not a big fan of that place, but i know Liz loves it, so we went. We were told we would be seated in 10 minutes, we waited about 45 minutes. The Concert started at 8 and we did not sit down till about 7:10. We ordered everything at once and told our waitress to bring it all at once. The food was excellent and i will go again.  We also got to see a HE-SHE working at Olive Garden as a waitress.  I told Liz that is one way to get a job, dress up as a girl and if they do not hire you, you can sue for discrimination.   There were a lot of colorful people in that area.

So after Dinner, we walked over to the Spokane Arena and got to our seats.  The opening act was a group called Naturally 7. They are 7 guys who do everything with their voices, instruments and all. They could imitate electric guitars, drums, harmonica, piano, keyboards, chello, violins, flutes. It was amazing. They are really talented and Liz and I really enjoyed them.

Then Michael Buble' came out and he started out the show with a bang. He sang all of his hits and some other songs he likes from the 80's. He is such a great entertainer and showman. He was funny, interacted with the audience and band members and made it that much more fun.  We will see him again. It was so worth it.

We then headed home and relieved Sara from her baby sitting duties and we were done for the night.

We hope you are doing well.
