Liz and I have been waiting for the spring weather to get better so we can get out and enjoy the wonderful area around us in the Heber Valley. We are not far from some great scenic and beautiful canyon areas so when we have time, we like to go for the short drives around the area.
We have had to go to SLC a few times and each time we are there we decide to do something for the sake of keeping us and Little Peanut ( changing name to Salty soon ) sane. We have gone to Temple Square and watched the redone version of the Joseph Smith movie. It was great. Peanut/Salty lasted 35 mins of it and then she was done. So Liz and I took turns on corralling her. We have gone to Sugar House Park to have a picnic, we went to This is the Place State Park and then to the zoo, had a picnic up East Canyon over looking a lake, and gone and seen the trains of the Heber Valley Railroad. We have had a fun time.
Riding the ponies at This is the Place Heritage Park
Chasing the Goats around the Pen, she loved them.
Liz and I were walking out of the Goat Pen and we turned around and NO McKinley, we searched around and finally found her playing in her new little fort. She did not want to come out.
We actually got to go on a date a few weeks ago. Liz found a baby sitter in our ward and she came over and took care of McKinley for 4 hours, it was great to get away and enjoy a night for just Liz and I. We went to Park City and walked up and down Main Street. We went to some awesome Art Galleries and just had fun.
McKinley is doing great, she is keeping us on our toes and she is speaking more, not making much sense, but she gets her point across with yelling and uhhhs and mmmmms. She does say Please, dadda, momma, puppup for cat and dog, and growls when she sees Lions, Tigers and Bears. And she loves to dance, we put on music and she keeps in step with the beat of the music. She is the best.
We hope you are doing well. Keep in touch.
