McKinley loves when we have our little daddy-daughter time. I try to always do something that she will like and gain something from. When we walk around i ask her what colors she sees, how many things, what things are called and she does really well. I am also teaching her to not be so girly and cry over things like falling down and to like animals and understand things at an early age which will help her progress that much faster. Liz and I do not want to shelter her. We always are awed by parents who are constant hover parents who don’t let their kids be kids. We do stand by, but at a distance. We let her investigate. McKinley is smart and she has great senses about her. When something does not seem right, she will come to us. We hope that she grows up being better than us in all aspects and is more an extrovert than introvert.
Yesterday, I took McKinley out and we did one of her favorite things. Feed the Ducks. She was feeling a little upset since Mom was sick in bed all day and she did not have any Mom attention. So she helped me cook dinner and pick some carrots out of the Garden and then helped Grandma pick corn and tomatoes. She loves helping. One thing she likes to do is go get the daily paper down at the end of the drive way. She tells me to stand at the top and let her do it.

So after dinner we went to Feed the ducks. She had a half load of bread and she used every bit of it for them. McKinley also got the chance to pet a Hawk. While we were feeding the ducks, i saw a ton of crows about a block over going crazy. I thought nothing of it at first since there are so many crows around. Well, when we left i drove past the area and McKinley heard a shriek and i looked and noticed a bird on the ground and feathers everywhere and a guy sitting in his truck watching. Then i noticed the big glove and rope attached to the bird. The bird was a Hawk. The guy was a Falconer. I stopped and asked if my daughter could come see his bird and he said sure and McKinley watched his Hawk eat a fresh killed Crow. She loved it. She was so full of questions for the Hawks owner. She kept wanting to get closer, but he said that would not be a good idea since the Hawk would think she would be trying to steal his dinner.
| This is the Hawk chowing down on the Crow. When he got off of the crow all that he had eaten was the chest cavity and everything inside of it. This was a 4 month old Hawk. |

After petting the Hawk we went to a Park so she could burn off some excess energy. She had fun running around and getting on the Teeter-Totter with dad. She loves climbing up to the top of the slide and got really excited when I went down with her one time. Really glad that the slide could hold me.
She is also getting excited for this weekends Family Reunion. My family has not all been together for a while and we are doing a new family photo with all the new additions.
We hope you are doing well. We would love to hear from you.
